Kung Fu World Shocked

Wang Kiu, Lok Yiu, Tsui Sheung Tin, Wong Shun Leung

In the 1950´s Master Wong Shun Leung and Master Wang Kiu shocked the Kung Fu world in Hong Kong by dispelling all superstitious myths relating to Chinese Kung Fu.They did this by means of challenge matches in front of the Hong Kong press. There were more than forty such matches held. Published results of these matches inspired many and accounted for the rapid spread of Wing Chun. Now some people are promoting such myths even from within the Wing Chun ranks.

Don´t be fooled! Wing Chun is scientific in every way. It relies on economy of motion, a constistent logical theory and proper body mechanics. There is no secret Wing Chun footwork, no secret death touch, no lightening hand, and no chi that allows you to stand on eggs. Furthermore, no one is today is recognized as the number one fighter or the grandmaster of the Wing Chun system. These are only self bestowed titles and common stage tricks. Real Kung Fu relies only on skill and technique, not tricks and empty titles.

Dispel the Myths

To dispel such myths, world renowned Master Wong Shun Leung, Master Lok Yiu, Master Tsui Sheung Tin and Master Wang Kiu will offer a first of its kind, and probably also the last, Wing Chun symposium to pass the foundation of the whole Wing Chun art. These are genuine first generation students of the late Master Yip Man. Martial artists who have attended seminars given by any of the above masters have been surprised by the differences in the art practised by the first generation students of Yip Man compared to that of the current so called grandmasters and their descendants. Students have found out that modified Wing Chun techniques often look similar, but in reality violate many of the principles of Wing Chun.

Noted Abilities

The symposium will be set up so that a small group of students will study directly under each master. Enrollment will be limited for maximum student-teacher interaction. Master Lok Yiu, the second student of Yip Man, is noted for the heaviness of the power in his exceptional sticking hand ability. Master Tsui Sheung Tin, the third student of Yip Man, has been praised by Yip Man for his form. Master Wang Kiu, a veteran of more than 40 challenge matches, is noted for his precision and variety of techniques. Master Wong Shun Leung, the Wing Chun teacher of Bruce Lee, was recognized as the number one Wing Chun fighter in the early days. He is noted for the speed at which he can change his tactics.

This symposium, which is designed for intelligent martial artists of any style, will provide a most unique opportunity. Never in the history of Chinese Kung Fu has it been possible to learn openly from the four leaders of any system. Our team of masters, which we will fly in from abroad, represent more than 144 combined years of Wing Chun experience.
